Partners of the crOss renoHome project participated in a working group on financing energy renovation

KLIK and DOOR took part last week in a working group meeting dedicated to financing the energy renovation of private buildings organized by partner CGBC – residential houses as well as commercial buildings owned by small and medium-sized enterprises.

In addition to representatives of the crOss renoHome project partners, the meeting was also attended by the North-West Croatia Regional Energy and Climate Agency, ZGRADOnačelnik.hr, Privredna banka Zagreb, the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds, and the Zagreb Stock Exchange. Participants held a constructive discussion on the challenges and opportunities of financing green renovation.

KLIK and DOOR, together with partners from GBC Croatia and DOOR, presented a digital platform being developed within the crOss renoHome project. The platform connects citizens with energy renovation companies and provides information on available bank loans and public calls for renovation subsidies.

Key topics of the meeting included challenges in financing energy renovation, especially for households at risk of energy poverty; the development of new financial instruments based on European examples; strengthening citizens’ capacities through one-stop-shop support and education; and measures within the Social Climate Fund.

As a reminder, in December 2025 participants actively took part in a public consultation on the Social Climate Plan, the largest financial instrument in Croatia aimed at vulnerable households, micro-enterprises, and energy- and transport-vulnerable groups of citizens.

Discussions will continue in April in Šibenik at a two-day conference within the crOss renoHome project, bringing together entrepreneurs, public and financial institutions. The conference topics will include the national building renovation plan, European affordable housing policy, strategies for electrification of heating and cooling, and improving indoor environmental quality in residential buildings.
