New video: One-stop-shop office provides support to citizens – from idea to implementation

Home energy renovation, improving energy efficiency, or investing in renewable energy sources can often seem like complex processes filled with questions, administrative procedures, and uncertainties. Where should you start? What financing options are available? How do you apply for subsidies? And who can you turn to for expert support?

To make this journey easier for citizens, since autumn 2024 we have been providing support through the Zagreb and Križevci one-stop-shop (OSS) offices as a single point of contact for questions related to energy renovation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy sources. The offices were launched as part of the LIFE project crOss renoHome, together with partners KLIK and Green Building Council Croatia (GBC Croatia), with the goal of creating a simpler and more accessible support system for citizens—from the first idea to the successful implementation of a project.

The crOss renoHome project was developed to make the energy renovation process clearer, more accessible, and less administratively demanding. Instead of requiring citizens to seek information from multiple sources, the OSS model provides integrated support and expert guidance through a single contact point.

Alongside the recently launched online platform for energy renovation, an important part of the project also includes physical contact points in Zagreb and Križevci. In these offices, citizens can receive information about possibilities for renovating their homes, available financing models, subsidies, solar power installations, and other solutions for more sustainable and energy-efficient housing.

However, support does not end with simply providing information.

At the Zagreb and Križevci OSS offices, we actively guide and support citizens throughout the entire process—from initial consultations and needs assessments, through preparing documentation and subsidy applications, all the way to monitoring project implementation and progress. The goal is to provide practical and continuous support, helping citizens make informed decisions and successfully carry out their projects.

The Zagreb OSS office, managed by DOOR, was established as an extension of the existing energy poverty center, further expanding ongoing activities and experience in working with citizens. At the same time, the office managed by KLIK in Križevci was developed through the existing energy and climate office, building on local expertise and an already established support network.

Through this approach, the crOss renoHome project aims to bring the energy transition closer to citizens and demonstrate that energy renovation does not have to be a complicated process. With expert support and clear information, the path toward a more energy-efficient and sustainable home can become simpler and more accessible to everyone.
