Croatian local authorities have joined in the co-financing of energy efficiency measures and the installation of renewable energy systems in 2024. In the first quarter of this year, five cities (Đakovo, Makarska, Rijeka, Križevci, and Omišalj), three municipalities (Čavle, Vrsar, and Matulji), and three counties (Lika-Senj County, Karlovac County, and Zadar County) have opened calls for citizens. The main measures being promoted include the installation of photovoltaic systems, EE mesures, subsidizing interest rates, conducting energy audits, and issuing energy certificates for family homes. Also city of Križevci encourage the installation of photovoltaic systems to combat energy poverty also in combination with EE measures –  such measures are very needed.

City of Rijeka

• Public tender for photovoltaic systems
• The deadline for application is until May 10, 2024
• Funding covers up to 50 percent of the total installation cost for a photovoltaic power plant up to 5 kW, up to a maximum of 3,750 EUR per family house. Up to 50 percent of the total installation cost for a photovoltaic power plant from 5.01 to 10 kW, up to a maximum of 7,500 EUR per family house.

• Public tender for photovoltaic systems
• The application must be submitted no later than November 1, 2024, or until the funds are exhausted.
• The funds are planned to be allocated so that co-financing of up to a maximum of 5,000 euros per family house can be achieved, or 400 euros per 1 kW of installed power plan. Funding covers project documentation and the main project

• The economic entity can be eligible for non-repayable support up to 100% of the stated project-technical documentation value, but no more than 5,000 euros. Funding covers project documentation and the main project for bussines sector

Municipality of Čavli

• Public tender for Subsidizing interest rates on loans for individuals for energy renovation of buildings, such as installing thermal insulation, replacing roofs, and installing exterior joinery with double glazing.
• The public call is open until October 31, 2024, or until the allocated funds for the fiscal year are exhausted
• Funding covers – subsidizes the interest rate by 2.5%
